I’ve had them for over 10 years now, through winters in upstate New York, Massachusetts, and now Ohio. I researched- as best I could- the most reliable, cost-efficient snow boots, and these were them. It happened to be the snowiest winter in recent history but these boots SAVED me. I grew up in TX (so, never had snow growing up) and moved to Chicago in 2010 after college. They are a true workhorse in my closet, which is exactly what I intended them to be. I am glad someone asked about these boots because I LOVE them. It would be super helpful to know if the insulation affects sizing or if the original boot is warm enough without insulation at all! For reference, I'm located in southwestern Pennsylvania where it can get decently snowy, wet, and cold in the winter (and just a little wet in the other seasons haha). In addition, I would appreciate any thoughts/comments on the differences between these models: the original boot, the boot with Thinsulate, and the boot with chamois lining and tumbled leather. If you've worn these boots before, would you recommend sizing down in order to get a good fit with thin/mid-weight socks? I'm pretty consistently a women's size 7 in brands like New Balance and Adidas I was prepared to order a size 6 but then I read some reviews where the purchaser claimed that they didn't need to size down, which threw me off.
